PRACTICE MERGER ANNOUNCEMENT

As from Monday 3 August 2020 the Regent Medical Practice will merge with the Dr Badejo   Practice and will be renamed COCHRANE MEDICAL PRACTICE. Cochrane Medical Practice will become the largest Practice in Inverclyde with 15,000 patients.

The major benefit of the merge is the creation of a large Practice with long-term viability and security in these unprecedented times, and the continued ability to provide all our patients with a quality and sustainable service.

The clinical staff in the new Practice will be as follows:

The Practice Team will also consist of a highly experienced administration team and be supported by other healthcare professionals attached to the new Practice

There will undoubtedly be some changes to our current ways of working, not only due to the merge but with the likelihood that the outcome of the COVID 19 pandemic will have an effect on how General Practice functions on a day to day basis for the foreseeable future. We would ask for your patience and support as there may be teething problems in the first few weeks . Merging two large General Practices is a major exercise and in addition the current pandemic situation will create its own challenges.  Initially we will operate from two wings of the current Health Centre with the GPs, ANP and Practice Nurses being located in Wing C (the former Regent Practice) and the Healthcare Assistants and other support staff working from Wing E (the former Badejo Practice).  The current pandemic has delayed the transfer to the new Greenock Health and Care Centre to early 2021 where the newly merged Cochrane Medical Practice will be situated in the one location.

As from 3 August 2020, the Practice main telephone number will remain as 01475 553560.

As a patient of the Regent Medical Practice your registration will automatically be transferred to the new Practice. Obviously you have the choice to register with another GP Practice in the locality if you so desire. I would be grateful of your cooperation and support during the first few weeks of the merge as we attempt to make the transition as seamless as possible.
